The Garfield High varsity girls soccer team narrowly lost to Eastlake High, 1-0, on Thursday at Memorial Stadium.
The game was locked in a well played scoreless tie until the 36th minute of the second half, when Marisa Katagiri knocked in a goal for the eastside team.
Bryce Kennedy earned the shutout for the Wolves.
The loss left Garfield with a 2-1-2 (5-2-3) record, and boosted Eastlake to 2-0-3 (4-1-6).
The Bulldogs’ next league game will be at Skyline at 7:30 pm on Tuesday. The Spartans lead the league with a 4-0-1 (8-0-2) record this year.
